Accounting Clerk (Levels I, II, III)
Salary Range
$50,000 - $90,000
Thorben Consulting is seeking detail-oriented Accounting Clerks (Levels I, II, and III) with three (3) or more years of relevant accounting or bookkeeping experience to join our team in Los Angeles and surrounding areas south of Santa Barbara. This role is critical to maintaining the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of financial records in support of client operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform accounting tasks including posting to registers and ledgers, and balancing and reconciling accounts
- Verify the internal consistency, completeness, and mathematical accuracy of accounting documents
- Assign prescribed accounting distribution codes
- Examine and verify clerical accuracy of reports, calculations, listings, and postings
- Prepare journal vouchers and account adjustments
- Utilize spreadsheets and accounting systems to support financial operations
Qualifications
Required
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Maintain journals and subsidiary ledgers, including balancing and reconciling complex accounts
- Review invoices and statements to verify accuracy, funding availability, and compliance
- Resolve questionable or discrepant items with submitting units
- Analyze and reconcile system-generated reports with operating unit documentation
- Research discrepancies and implement corrective actions to ensure accurate account balances
