Thorben Consulting LLC is actively seeking an experienced SAP ABAP/Fiori Developer with a strong background in lease accounting to join our team and contribute to the successful IT modernization efforts of a federal client. This is an exciting opportunity for a forward-thinking professional to work collaboratively with a System Integrator, helping transform the federal organization’s IT landscape.
As an integral part of the team, you will be responsible for designing and developing business applications focused on delivering exceptional user experiences. You’ll leverage ABAP for backend logic and SAP Fiori for crafting intuitive, user-friendly interfaces. Experience with technologies such as SAPUI5 and Fiori Elements is essential as you work to ensure seamless functionality and efficient performance within SAP environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust applications using SAP ABAP and SAP Fiori to meet business requirements.
- Use ABAP (Advanced Business Application Programming) to implement the business logic and data processing behind the Fiori applications.
- Work with technologies like Core Data Services (CDS), OData protocol, and ABAP-based application services.
- Strive to create intuitive and user-friendly interfaces that enhance the user experience.
- Implement SAP end-to-end experiences covering SAP program management, governance, and solution architecture with standard & custom SAP applications and business solutions (including global SAP transformation projects).

- Develop technical capability maps aligned with business capability architecture, identifying goals, strategies and metrics
- Develop various types of Fiori applications, including transactional, search, analytics, and planning apps.
- Leverage Fiori Elements, a technology that automates UI creation using annotations, reducing the need for extensive SAPUI5 coding.
Qualifications
Required
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science/Information Systems, or related field required.
- Certifications in SAP Basis/HANA Admin are desired
- Hands-on experience in SAP ABAP development and SAP Fiori for frontend interface development.
- Knowledge of the tools available for Fiori application development.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies.
- Strong understanding of ABAP syntax, data structures, and object-oriented programming principles.
- Knowledge of SAP Fiori design principles, UI5 framework, and Fiori Elements.
- Understanding of OData protocol and its role in data exchange between backend and frontend.
- Familiarity with CDS for defining data models.
- Knowledge of different code languages such as C, JAVA, SQL, and PL/SQL, Python, Objective C, Swift
- Knowledge in Operating Systems Windows NT/2000/XP, Linux
- Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA architecture and its features.
- Understanding of RAP for building RESTful services.
- Knowledge of BTP for developing and deploying SAP applications.
- Familiarity with the development environment for SAP applications.
