Senior SAP ABAP / CRM Technical Developer
Salary Range

Thorben Consulting, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior SAP ABAP Developer with strong CRM expertise to join our high-performing technology team supporting a mission-critical transformation program for a large U.S. Government agency. In this role, you will play a key part in enhancing, operating, and maintaining enterprise SAP solutions that enable critical business processes and drive modernization efforts.

Join our high-performing SAP delivery team and play a critical role in designing, developing, and supporting mission-critical enterprise solutions within a complex SAP NetWeaver application environment. As an SAP ABAP Developer, you will collaborate with technical and functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that enhance business operations, improve system performance, and support the evolving needs of our client.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, debug, implement, maintain, and document SAP solutions across ECC, CRM, SRM, and related SAP platforms
- Develop and support key SAP RICEFW (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Extensions, Forms, and Workflows) objects, ensuring high-quality, scalable, and reliable application functionality
- Contribute to the full SAP Software Development Life Cycle, including solution design, technical documentation, testing and validation, deployment, operations and maintenance (O&M), and continuous enhancement activities
- Ensure the stability, performance, and effectiveness of SAP applications that directly support mission-critical business processes
- Extend SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies
- Configure and enhance SAP Workflows to optimize business processes
- Develop SAP UI5/Fiori applications with intuitive and responsive user interfaces
- Develop reports with ALV's, drill down, and PDF forms
- Perform code optimization, program performance analysis, and tuning
- Adhere to strict development standards and conduct code reviews
Qualifications
Required
- Candidate must be a US Citizen
- Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum 12 years of overall experience, 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies
- Experience in CRM solutions, including customer engagement and catalog management
- Experience in configuration and enhancing SAP Workflows to optimize business processes
- Experience developing software in SAP NetWeaver ABAP Stack environments using ABAP Objects, ABAP Reports, ABAP online transactions, and Webdynpro
- Experience with interface/dialog programming, BAPI, ALE, and IDOCs
- Experience with User Exits, BADIs, and Batch Programming
- Experience in SAP UI5/Fiori applications with intuitive and responsive user interfaces
- Experience with RESTful APIs (e.g., OData) and SAP Gateway
- Experience in report development with ALV's, drill down, and PDF forms
- Experience with the SAP ABAP Data Dictionary and other SAP repository objects
- Experience in BRF+ framework
- Effective code optimization, program performance analysis, and tuning experience
- Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment
- Ability to communicate effectively with Management and diverse customer organizations

- Experience with SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Technical assessment and remediation of custom code during S/4HANA migrations
- S/4HANA extensibility framework and development best practices
- SAP Fiori and embedded analytics enablement
- CDS Views development and optimization
- AMDP and HANA-optimized development techniques
- OData service development and SAP Gateway configuration
- Ability to develop custom Java Applications using CRM E-Commerce and Web Channel Experience Management (WCEM)
- UI5 applications on various desktop and mobile platforms
- SAP Certification in ABAP Development and Maintenance, or UI5/Fiori Design and Development
